CADETS OR CONSTITUTIONAL-DEMOCRATIC PARTY S.A. Stepanov The Department of Political Science This article is the declined version of lecture of the special course «Political parties in Russia». This lecture is devoted to Cadets – abbreviated name for members of the Constitutional-Democratic Party, and also known as the «Party of the People's Freedom». The article describes history of party from its foundation in October, 1905 to June, 1907, when the government dissolved the Second Duma. Cadet’s program and political slogans give reason to say about their reformist opinions. The Cadet party is the party of the propertied classes; it has no force of arms and no great mass of people.
